Pieter’s News Bit – August ‘26

Stinkwater:

Once, I took a group of businessmen to the Stinkwater community, north of Pretoria, to show the Jesus Film.

When we arrived, dark rain clouds had gathered overhead.

We prayed together in my Venture and asked the Lord to hold back the rain for just a little while — long enough for us to do what we had come to do.

As soon as we finished praying, we immediately started setting up the equipment, even though a few of the men had their doubts.

While we were putting up the large outdoor screen, the clouds suddenly opened right above us, revealing a small, round patch of sky filled with shining stars!

As the evening went on, the opening in the clouds became bigger and bigger, while people came walking from all directions, drawn by the music from my powerful speakers.

As usual, the soccer field was packed that night with people whose hearts were searching for a Saviour who truly cares.

The Result:

It was a wonderful evening, and hundreds of people gave their hearts to Jesus.

When we had finished packing everything into the trailer at the end of the evening, the clouds closed again and heavy rain began to pour down.

We drove home through the mud and rain — cold and wet, but deeply thankful for God’s grace and for such a great victory.

Pieter se Nuusbrokkie - Augustus ‘26

Stinkwater:

Eenkeer het ek ’n groepie sakemanne na Stinkwater gemeenskap, Noord van Pretoria, geneem om die Jesus-film te wys.

Met ons aankoms het swaar, donker reënwolke saamgetrek.

In my Venture het ons saamgebid en die Here gevra om net vir ’n rukkie die reën weg te hou – net lank genoeg sodat ons kon doen waarvoor ons gekom het.

Na die gebed het ons onmiddellik begin toerusting opslaan, ten spyte van twyfel en skeptisisme tussen ‘n paar manne.

Terwyl ons die groot buitelugskerm opslaan, open die wolke reg bokant ons meteens ’n klein, ronde sirkel waarin sterre sigbaar skyn!

Soos die aand vorder, het die sirkel al hoe groter geword terwyl mense van heinde en verre aangestap kom - aangelok deur die musiek uit my kragtige beul-luidsprekers.

Soos gewoonlik was die sokkerveld daardie aand stampvol – mense met honger harte soekend na ‘n Redder wat omgee.

Uitkoms:

’n Wonderlike aand waar honderde hulle harte vir Jesus gegee het.

Toe ons aan die einde van die aand klaar opgepak en alles in die sleepwa gelaai het, het die wolke weer toegemaak en harde stortreën het uitgesak.

Deur die modder en water het ons huistoe gery – nat en koud, maar diep dankbaar vir God se genade tot ‘n groot oorwinning.

Mag jy geloof hê soos ’n mosterdsaadjie, sodat jy God se wonders rondom jou kan sien gebeur.
