Pieter’s News Bit – September ‘26

Quiet Place:

Every person carries a longing for a “Quiet Place” — a place where we can spend time with our Creator. It does not have to be anything special; simply a place where our hearts can become still.

When I was still running, my “Quiet Place” was a little spot in the mountains called “Height of Tears”.

It cost me one tear to get there, but whenever I reached the top, I experienced again that the Lord was already waiting for me. Then came the second tear.

Today, my “Quiet Place” is sometimes just a quiet moment in the car, or a walk through the streets of Kleinmond, where I can talk to the Lord out loud, with the sound of the waves in the background.

Your “Quiet Place” may be a chair beside a window, a path in the countryside, or your kitchen early in the morning.

The important thing is to make time regularly to be still and become aware of God’s presence.

My prayer for you:

I pray that you will find a “Quiet Place” where you can experience God’s presence.
May your heart be filled with God’s peace, may you be strengthened for each new day, and may you continually discover that God is always near.
I pray God’s blessing and protection over you.

Stilwordplek:

Elke mens dra ’n verlange na ’n “Stilwordplek” – ’n plek waar jy tyd met jou Skepper kan spandeer. Dit hoef nie iets besonders te wees nie; net ’n plek waar jou hart tot rus kom.

Toe ek nog gehardloop het, was my “Stilwordplek” ’n plekkie in die berg, “Hangtraan”.

Dit het my ’n traan gekos om daar uit te kom, maar wanneer ek bo was, het ek telkens ervaar dat die Here reeds daar vir my wag. Dan het die tweede traan gekom.

Vandag is my “Stilwordplek” soms net ’n oomblik van stilte in die motor, of ’n stappie deur Kleinmond se strate, waar ek hardop met die Here kan praat, met die branders op die agtergrond.

Jou “Stilwordplek” kan ’n stoel by ’n venster wees, ’n paadjie in die veld, of jou kombuis vroeg in die oggend.

Die belangrikste is dat jy gereeld tyd maak om stil te word en bewus te wees van God se teenwoordigheid.

My gebed vir jou:

Ek bid dat jy ’n “Stilwordplek”: sal kry waar jy God se nabyheid kan beleef.
Mag jou hart gevul word met God se vrede, jy versterk word vir elke nuwe dag, en mag jy telkens ontdek dat God altyd naby is.
Ek bid God se seën en beskerming oor jou.
In Jesus se Naam. Amen.
